Irma Help Lindsay, Mike, Sophie

Hurricane Irma - My Sister Lindsay MacDonald, brother Mike MacDonald and his girlfriend Sophie Lightner were severely impacted by Hurricane Irma.  They live in St. John the U.S. Virgin Islands which last week was devastated by Hurricane Irma.  For 3 days we did not even know if they were ok as the island has so much damage that there was no way to communicate.  Finally -Lindsay was able to get through on a Satellite phone to tell us the three of them were ok, however, everything is gone.  Lindsay lived on a boat and no longer has a home or any belongings.   Mike and Sophie have extensive damage to the building they live in as the entire top floor and all windows and doors are gone, their vehicles are no longer usable as they were destroyed along with most of their belongings.  The infrastructure on St. John and especially in Coral Bay where they live has extensive damage, and for a place that relies on tourism this is devastating.  It means that most will not have a source of income for some time.  Many family and friends have asked how they can help them directly.  This go fund me will help them evacuate if necessary as it is anticipated that power will not be restored to the island for months (right now they want to stay as long as they can to help others).  It will also help them with necessities like food, water, clothing, fuel, and housing and hopefully help them start to rebuild all that they have lost.  We will deliver the money by depositing into accounts for them.  Thank you for considering helping my brother and sister and friend - Amy Consolatti McFarland, WI.  I am the sister of Mike and Lindsay MacDonald, and friend of Sophie Lightner.  The money will be delivered to their accounts directly by me.  The money will go to much needed supplies of Bug Spray, Mosquito nets, hygiene products, sun screen, clothes, temporary housing, and to help rebuild as they lost everything and only have a small backpack of personal items.   Also if they are required to evacuate the island they will need to pay for transportation off island and funds would be used for that as well.
