<div>Some 7 years ago, when I was classified in a much younger age category, I cycled from John O'Groats to Cowes on the Isle of Wight, in memory of my Dad. Now, two years after Mom dying due to complications from pulmonary fibrosis, I want to cycle further in her memory and do my part to raise funds for the Irish Lung Fibrosis Association (ILFA). Though Mom was strong, kind and accepting in life, pulmonary fibrosis took much from her in her final years.

<div>Not only is ILFA a fitting charity in memory of my Mom, but my sister, Tricia, an amazing pulmonary nurse practitioner, does great volunteer work for ILFA, along with many others, as a board member.
</div>

<div>For my bit, I thought that I would do something fun and challenging to help this very special charity. I will be cycling the Wild Atlantic Way from Waterford to Derry in May 2026, hugging the coast for some 1,500 miles or 2,400 km over 15 days.
</div>

<div>Though I know that this will be a tough challenge, I do love cycling and it has always been a part of my life. It brought me to school and Uni in my early years and now brings me joy. Cycling helps me to keep a healthy mind and is a bit of fun……usually!
</div>

<div>Please join me in helping ILFA to raise funds to support those with Pulmonary Fibrosis throughout Ireland, as my Mom was supported in her final years.

<div>The Irish Lung Fibrosis Association (ILFA) supports patients and the lung fibrosis community with education, advocacy, research, and direct services. Lung Fibrosis (or pulmonary fibrosis) is a serious and life-limiting lung condition that occurs in adults.

<div>ILFA’s mission is to help individuals and families living with lung fibrosis, and the healthcare staff caring for them by providing evidence-based information, support and practical resources, by advocating for their needs, and contributing to awareness, education and research in Lung Fibrosis.
