Iris and Chris Leak Medical Fund

Mrs. Iris is a co-worker of mine that has been having a tough time with multiple medical issues with her husband, Chris.  He has been unable to work for several years because of this, leaving Iris as the sole provider for the family.  Chris has suffered with chronic gout that leads him to many ER visits.  Two years ago, Chris found out that he has prostate cancer.  While doing radiation treatments, he received radiation to a part of his body that was not supposed to.  This caused a slew of other medical issues including kidney failure.  Because of all of this, the medical bills have been piling up.  They are close to losing their house and also didn't have heat for part of this past winter.  Many of their friends stepped up to help Chris and Iris with their bills when they could.  Chris and Iris are some of the most generous people  I know.  Even with his medical issues, Chris helped out with relief efforts in North Carolina after Hurricane Matthew last year.  Iris, or Mama Iris, as many of us call her at work is always taking care of other.  She has headed up many campaigns to help those that she knows. Even with everything going on in her personal life, she comes to work with a big smile on her face.  Iris herself is in need of a total knee replacement, but they can't afford any more medical bills or her time off from work.  Chris and Iris are such admirable people who just can't catch a break.  Anything that you can donate will help them out tremedously.
