The Ireland U16 Men's National Basketball Team are currently preparing to represent Ireland at the 2017 FIBA European Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria. The team has been preparing since October 2015, with training camps, workouts and international "friendly" games along the way.
The programme is quite comprehensive and expensive, and unfortunately requires a great deal of family funding to make participation possible. Our European Championships will be held over 12 days in Sofia, Bulgaria. As part of our preparations to represent Ireland at this level, we are also scheduled for tournaments in both Luxembourg and Portugal in July. As the programme is largely self-funded, it is necessary for players to raise funds towards the cost of participation.
We are so proud of both the skill and character development of the boys in the programme, and it is our wish that the funds raised ease the financial burden faced by the boys and their families as they head off to represent Ireland at European Championships.
Funds raised will help cover costs of flights, accomodations, meals, laundry, and medical supplies for our preparation events in Luxembourg and Portugal in July, as well as European Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria, where will be based from August 8-20th.
Just like in basketball, we welcome contributions of all sizes! It would be wonderful to accomplish our fund-raising goal ahead of August.
