Leroy Stevens has been with Indigo Run for nearly 20 years and has been a fixture in our Operations Department.  He is family to us.  He cares deeply about Indigo Run and was one of the first people on site to help clear our roads after Hurricane Matthew.

Leroy and his wife Stefanie need our help.  This has been a rough year for them as they tragically lost a daughter in the spring.  The costs related to that tragedy have put them in a position where they can no longer borrow with banks, and they are under a time crunch as well.

Leroy and his wife live on property that is shared with family members that do not live on the property.  It is property that is catagorized as "heirs" property - that which is owned by descendants of slaves.  The other family members that share ownership (but do not live on the land) wish to sell the land for $50,000.  Only Leroy and his family live there and they will be forced to leave their home unless they can buy out the interest of the other family members by January 20, 2018.   So Leroy and his wife need to raise nearly $35,000 immediately to keep their home.   They will be able to come up with some of the funding through savings, but they need the help of our loving community so Leroy and his wife can keep their home.
