Ira Friddle Family Fund

Dear Friends and Family,

Very unexpected and challenging circumstances have befallen the Friddle family over the past few weeks. Ira has experienced the joy of welcoming a newborn son as well as the disappointment of suddenly losing his job at a local home health agency as it changed companies.

On 9/13/18, Ira fell 12 feet off a wall onto concrete resulting in fractures to both feet and ankles.  The heel bone of his right foot was shattered into about 12 pieces and splinted in the emergency room.  Due to the complexity of his injuries, the closest specialist who could help was in Lubbock.  Upon examination, it was discovered that pressure from the fractured bone was destroying heel tissue and emergency surgery was performed.  He is now unable to stand or bear weight for a minimum of 8 to 10 weeks.  On his left side, the “talus” bone, which connects the foot to the leg, was broken into 3 pieces. It is now in a hard cast and the doctor is hopeful it will heal on its own without the need for future surgery.

Unfortunately, Ira does not have medical insurance for himself and faces extensive medical bills now and in the future.  Family has been helping keep daily household activities as normal as possible with caring for baby Aaron and getting Abigail to her school and sports activities.  If there are no further complications, a recovery time of 6 months to one year is anticipated.  Physical therapy will also be instrumental in getting Ira back on his feet, “literally”.  This is a long period of time Ira will be incapacitated and unable to provide for his family.

Any assistance and prayers for Ira’s healing are appreciated and welcome. Any donations to this account will go directly to helping Ira, Britney, Abigail and Aaron with living and medical expenses during this difficult and vulnerable time.  Thank you so much for considering helping Ira and his family!
