iPads and PillowPets forHarborview

Nearly 6 years ago our two daughters were burned in an accident at our home. Our entire world changed in that moment. As a family we've grieved, hurt, processed, prayed. Every July 2nd we remember the day we nearly lost our daughter Addison. It's not that it's easy to think back, but we know celebrating her life is far better than pretending bad things don't happen. Addison was 4 at the time of the fire. She received grafts to her hands, face and arms. She was in the Harborview PICU for 48 days. There she was cared for by the very best. We have found healing and grace through giving back. Addison is now a strong, beautiful 9 year old girl. She looks forward to July 2nd, she loves visiting the place that brought her through the scariest time in her life. This year we will be collecting funds for iPads to be used by the Child Life Specialist on floor 9 and PillowPets to give to each child that has to be admitted to the PICU of Harborview. While Harborview is the best of the best, it is a trauma center, not a children's hospital. It's rare they are able to give kids a comfort gift when admitted. There are no princesses roaming the halls or superheroes at bedsides. They deal with children who are extremely hurt or at deaths door. Please consider giving. Harborview so appreciates this and as Addison is getting older she realizes the depth of what it is to give back and help the hurting. We also provide lunch for the faculty of floor 9 and set up a lunch for families staying there or visiting their loved ones. It blesses everyone. Thank you!
