Chris needs leg braces

Hi friends,
I am asking for your help. My name is Chris Denham. I was born with a neuromuscular condition, Charcot Marie Tooth, or CMT for short. It is the most common peripheral neuropathy, affecting 1 in 2500 individuals. The disease affects the nerves of my hands and lower legs, which deteriorate over time. I am unable to walk very far without falling, and I have to lean against a wall if possible when out in public. I used to ride a bike, rock climb, and hike and now I am unable to do any of the things I enjoy. I have begun using plastic leg braces over the last few years, but they don't last very long and I have fallen several times due to their poor design. Currently, I am raising funds to obtain carbon fiber leg braces which will allow me to stand, walk, and even RUN! Yes, something I have never been able to do even as a young boy. I am studying to be a doctor so I can one day help children affected by similar challenges. At the moment I am a medical student with no job, so I am unable to pay for the braces which cost $13,000.
