Hello Beautiful People!
My name is Destinee Jackson and I am currently a Junior at Texas Christian University. I am a Fashion Merchandising Major and Communications minor. Last academic school year when my troubles began, I joined ROTC to get a scholarship to pay for school. My family could no longer afford to take out anymore loans and did not have the financial resources to pay tuition out of pocket. I became extremely depressed and later in the semester was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and anxiety. These things make it very difficult to function in society successfully, especially in a college environment .
For the sake of my health I had to terminate my participation in ROTC, but by eliminating my only hope of paying for school I became even more stressed out. I took a medical withdrawal last semester to get my health back on track and I spent all summer on campus working diligently to prepare and come back this semester even stronger.
Due to my mother's disease, Multpilpe Sclerosis, she had to retire on disability. My father is the primary source of income, supporting a household of five people, there leaves little to fund my education. I took a medical withdrawal last semster, but I've worked too hard to be denied education due to lack of income. In order to continue my journey I have to have $7,000 raised by the end of December to enroll in classes. I am humbly asking you to help me finish out this academic year strong at Texas Christian University! With your support I can continue my dream journey on graduating from TCU!
To ensure my success for the future 2015-2016 academic school year, I am applying for the Baer Reintergration Scholarship. This is a scholarship for people with mental disorders such as bipolar disorder and various others. The deadline for most scholarships for this academic school year have long passed, this is why I need your help to get me through this year!
