Invictus Games 2020 National Team Member

Hi everyone!  I'm very excited to have been selected to Team Canada for the Invictus Games 2020 in The Hague, Netherlands.   For those who may not be aware,  the Invictus Games are an international sporting event for Service men and women who have sustained physical and/or mental injuries while serving their country.

Like many many others, I have suffered with illness and injury for many years.  This is very personal for me, and having just completed the first of 2 national training camps, and meeting my fellow athletes, I am tremendously proud of my teammates and what these Games represent.  The opportunity to promote healing through sport has really impacted my life, and working with these incredible organizations is leading to positive life changes and future goal setting that would not otherwise have been possible.

I truly hope that by launching this campaign I can reach out and raise awareness  in support of recovering veterans across our country and around the world.   I also hope to raise funds to offset the cost of training, travel and equipment.  Should I succeed in raising this money, any extra will be donated back to SoldierOn, our incredible support organization here in Canada.

I will be competing in Archery, sitting Volleyball and Road Criterium and Time Trials racing. I will be training in Kelowna, BC if anyone wants to ride or shoot with me on this amazing journey!

The Games are May 9-14, 2020, and you can find information on the Games here: Invictus Games The Hague 2020 .  You may also enjoy the short promo video clip  here:
I am truly honoured to have been selected to represent Canada in The Hague next year.  I hope you will follow along on my journey  to raise awareness for this incredible cause.

All the best,

Mike
