INVICTUS GAMES 2020 - ADDITIONAL FAMILY

Donation protected
My name is Sgt (ret'd) Chris Zizek, and I have been selected to represent "Team Canada" at the Invictus Games, The Hague, Netherlands, 9-16 May 2020 (IG2020)

After spending almost 20 years serving in the Canadian Armed Forces, both on home soil and overseas, I was unfortunately medically released due my physical injuries in Jan 2019.  Since then, I have also been officially diagnosed with PTSD with my service related to a Tour in Afghanistan.

In Sept 2019, I had the opportunity to meet my teammates, coaches and the staff from Soldier On during our first Training Camp.  During the week, our coaches focused on proper techniques for each of our selected sports.  My sports include; Rowing, Swimming and Seated Volleyball.  The camp gave me a chance to be back in a high performance team atmosphere and promoted "Esprit de Corps" that serving in the military always gave me.

As you will see in the "Disclaimers" below, "IG2020" and "Soldier On" provide more than enough financial support in many aspects of the Invictus Games.  Including, equipment grants, uniforms, and sponsoring 2x family members to be part of my journey.

This journey originally started as an individual journey, but as a married man and father of 2x boys, I can't think of anyone more to share this experience with me.  As such, I have started this "Go Fund Me" page to raise funds to help assist in costs associated to bringing a 3rd family member.  That way, my wife and my boys can all be part of, not only my journey, but all my competitors journey to recovery during IG2020 !!

Thank you for your support from the bottom of our hearts

Chris, Melissa, Jonathan and Logan Zizek
