Cyclone Ditwah made landfall on 28 November, triggering some of the most severe flooding Sri Lanka has seen since the early 2000s.
Initial assessments indicate that more than 15,000 homes have been destroyed, 230,000 people displaced and upwards of 400 lives lost.
The impacts of disasters of this scale ripple through local communities, and Intrepid is devastated to see many of our colleagues personally affected. At least 16 team members have been severely affected by flooding, landslides, or major structural damage to their homes. Another three team members have reported moderate impacts, while nine have had to leave their homes, staying with relatives, friends, or in government centers.
In response, Intrepid people are fundraising for our impacted team members directly. Your contribution will go towards helping them, their families and their communities rebuild.
If you’re in a position to do so, please give generously to show your support for Intrepid Colombo.
