InterVol Emergency Appeal

Tax deductible
Please support our six amazing partners to get through the coronavirus emergency without our annual volunteers. These organisations are all heavily affected by the global pandemic and are either on the front line of virus response working with refugees and community outreach or are severely stretched due to volunteer shortages and school closures.

Since 2004 InterVol has supported small community charities around the world through grants and annual volunteer groups that work for 3-8 weeks with our partners overseas. We support small, innovative projects across education, health, refugee support, and animal conservation in six countries and across four continents. These amazing project partners rely on the skills and grant funding that volunteers bring each summer; supporting them to run specific projects to improve their capacity and allow them to support their beneficiaries at their busiest times. However, the coronavirus emergency has broken our usual model of support to our partners. The majority of our summer 2020 projects have been cancelled due to travel restrictions in place worldwide.  As we cannot support our partners with volunteers this year we are raising funds for emergency grants for our partners, allowing them to continue their crucial work and to cover for the absence of our volunteers.  Our partners are:

-OXAB BG (Bulgaria). A small registered community child support charity in Bulgaria providing support for disabled and disadvanted children through day centres. Funds will support mentoring of disadvantaged children by local volunteers, due to coronavirus support for these children is severely stretched.

-Care4Calais (France). A refugee support charity that provides food and supplies to hundreds of refugees living in informal camps in the Calais region. C4C urgently need funds and supplies to continue their work and keep the refugees healthy.

-Merazonia (Ecuador). A centre for the conservation and rehabilitation of trafficked rainforest animals. Funds will support feeding and caring for the centre's animals, this is very limited at this time as very few volunteers can stay on site.

Maya Universe Academy (Nepal). A rural education charity providing free education to children living a long distance from school. Funds will support teacher salaries and school maintenance.

Nancholi Youth Organisation (Malawi). A community healthcare charity in Southern Malawi. NAYO are directly on the COVID-19 front line and need support to provide protective equipment (PPE) for their staff and medical supplies for the community.

Sambhali Trust (India). A training, social support and education charity for women and children in Jodhpur. Sambhali have been supporting rural communities during the COVID-19 lockdown with ration packs and funds will allow them to reach more families and vulnerable people.

NOTE: InterVol will make donations across all six of our partner charities later this summer using funds from this appeal, funds held in reserve for emergencies, and donations made directly to us. We will announce the amounts donated through Facebook. For any questions please do not hesitate to ask us at [email redacted].uk. Our website www.intervol.org.uk has more details on our approach and partners.
