EVENT
The 2015 Inter-Pacific Spearfishing Championships will be held April 3 - 8 in Nouméa, New Caledonia. The Inter-Pac tournament has been held annually for over 25 years, contested between teams of several Pacific nations---New Caledonia, Tahiti, Hawai'i, Guam, New Zealand, and Australia.

COSTS
Every team is comprised of four men and two women, with alternates and a team captain allowed. The most significant cost of attendance is travel. This year the Hawai'i team anticipates a cost of ~$4000 per participant, half of which will cover the flight expenses alone. Aside from this, there are tournament entry fees, accommodation, ground transportation, food, and potential boat fees. The success of a team is largely dependent on the amount of time spent on location before the tournament becoming familiar with the fish, setting, circumstances, etc., hence our desire to arrive there at least a week before the tournament begins, incurring our high costs.
GOAL
Even though we are representing Hawai'i and the United States in this prestigious tournament, there is unfortunately no entity backing us; every member of the team understands that participation in this tournament generally requires significant personal sacrifice in the way of finances. However, Hawai'i has a very large spearfishing community. If a large number of members lends us support in the way of small donations (e.g., $1 - $25), we believe we could actually gather our funding goal without any donator being too gratuitous.
REWARDS
Our team would like to offer rewards to donators of larger sums as a token of our appreciation. We offer the following incentives:
$50 - Team T-shirt
$250 - Name or company logo on T-shirt, signage, FB/IG posts
$1000 - Name or company logo as title sponsor on T-shirt, signage, FB/IG posts
We will document our experience as best as we can through photos, videos and stories, to be shared with you through our Facebook page, Hawaii Skin Diver, etc. We hope this will be rewarding to you as well!
