ANMF Tasmanian members for Women's Health Tasmania

Tax deductible
Ask yourself: what I can do as an individual to truly make a positive difference for women everywhere?

In honor of International Women's Day (IWD)  2020, The Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation (ANMF) Tasmanian Branch are calling on individuals in our community to support the health of Tasmanian women, and women working in healthcare, by making a donation to Women's Health Tasmania. We are also calling on ANMF members, their colleagues, families and friends to share their stories and experiences of equality, leadership, initiative, and excellence of nursing and midwifery in Tasmania. For each story shared, we will donate $15 towards the fundraising goal. (Launching shortly - stay tuned!)

What will the money be used for?
All donations to this campaign will be given to the Women’s Health Tasmania Encore Program. This is an eight-week recovery program for women who have experienced breast cancer. Located in Hobart and Launceston, the program lowers the risk of lymphoedema and helps to restore strength, mobility, and confidence. It is a free program that needs the support of others to continue to grow and succeed.

Why are we doing this?
We are initiating this campaign in solidarity with women everywhere working in female-dominated occupations such as nurses, midwives, and care workers. These women support our health systems and communities every day but often have their sacrifices and achievements overlooked as they put the care of others ahead of their own needs. We believe these women deserve respect, support, and recognition, and we hope that you will join us in celebrating them in a small way for the incredible work they do. It is through acknowledging the work of women in female-dominated professions that we can lead positive change for the workplace and also benefit our community.

I would like to submit a story, will the ANMF donate for me? Yes!
Throughout this campaign, we want to highlight the goodwill and dedication of nurses, midwives, and care workers across Tasmania as part of the World Health Organisations announcement of 2020 being the Year of the Nurse and the Midwife. We are calling on ANMF members, healthcare professionals, and members of the community to share their stories with us.

Do you know a nurse, midwife or care worker that is leading change in healthcare? Is your colleague initiating discussion that better the future of health? Have you experienced the warmth of a nurse going above and beyond? These are just some examples of the stories we want to hear from you. There are so many more. Don't forget, for every story that we receive, the ANMF will donate $15 until we reach our target! Simply click here to submit yours.

How long will it run for?
This campaign will run from 10 March 2020 until 7 April 2020 when an announcement of the final donation amount and presentation to the Women’s Health Tasmania clinic will be made on World Health Day.

Thanks
On behalf of women working in healthcare, we wish to extend our gratitude to all individuals who donate to this campaign. If you would like to give a shout-out to female Tasmanian nurses, midwives, and care workers simply share this campaign via your social media account.
