Ukranian Fencers Fund

Dear friends! My name is Alex Kushkov. I was born and grew up in Kyiv, Ukraine.

I am in communication with the head coach of the Ukrainian National Fencing team. Because of the current regulations in Ukraine, not all  team members were able to leave the country. They are  being supported by the Polish and other national Fencing Federations, but that support will end when the Junior and Cadet World Championships begins in Dubai on April 2, 2022. The young athletes will first need funds to be able to attend Junior and Cadet World Championships. Next they will need support in relocating to the United States where they can be safe and continue their training until they can (hope beyond hope) return home to Ukraine.

This money will first be used for plane tickets, hotels, and meals at World Championships. Next it will be used for plane tickets, room and board, equipment, and training fees in the United States. All young people deserve safety, stability, and support in maintaining their passions and physical condition. This funding will help these athletes while other funding goes to help rebuild Ukraine once this violence ends.

We hope the fencing community and others will come together to support these young men and women recover and thrive in the face of this unimaginable tragedy.
