Intelligentsia Boston Virtual Tip Jar

Donation protected

The outbreak of Covid-19 has disrupted almost everything we know. On March 17, in order to help curb the spread of the virus and "flatten the curve", Intelligentsia closed all of its retail operations and provided all hourly employees two weeks of pay.

While this provided some peace of mind, the baristas all took a pay cut in the form of lost tips. In some cases, this can represent a 30% loss in wages. As the case of any other major city, our baristas have normal lives.  Some have families, some are going to school, and are struggling to make ends meet since the start of this crisis.

Many of you have been our loyal guests since we first opened our doors over 2 years ago in the Boston area. We know your orders, where your kids go to school, how much room you like in your iced coffee. You've grown with us.

This fund is aimed at relieving some of the financial burden from the closures of the coffeebars. Any contribution amount will help each of our 11 hourly baristas afford groceries and other essentials in this uncertain time.

We miss you all walking through our doors every morning. We hope that you are willing and able to spare whatever you can to help us weather this storm, and that we may all come out on the other side and continue to serve the best coffee we can. Thank you so much!
