Bereavement in Maternity

We are a group of 24 training police officers, who are currently in our 18 week training course at the training college. Whilst we are here, we are trying to raise money for bereavement in maternity.
This is something that many people hold close to their heart, whether they have been through it themselves or whether they know a family member or just a friend who has been through this.
All the money we raise will be going to Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford to try and turn an idea into a reality. This will be going towards improving the bereavement service by supplying equiptment and resources and implementing services to better support families. Things that this may include in future projects may be a counselling service for the parents who have unfortunately had to experience this, hand and foot casting, refurbishment of the bereavement suite, supplies for parents and memory making projects. This, alongside the amazing Cuddle Cots that are now being introduced are an amazing way that greiving parents can spend time with their babies who have been taken with angels and babies who are holding on.
This is something that every new parent has nightmares about, and for those who have had to experience it, at the moment, may not get the support they need. This will benefit thousands of people for the future. One day it may help a family member or a friend. It is a traumatic experience and we are going to raise as much money as we can to assist with the process after. We can speak on behalf of everyone who may use this service on the future and every little helps.
We are aiming to raise around £3,000 by 1st May 2018, which will be a huge help to the hospital. We will be doing events around Chelmsford for this cause, and would really appreciate it, if people would pop down and support us at these events.
We have completed a London to Paris Bike Ride. This was held at High Chelmer Shopping Centre, and we raised £614.
