Did you know only 2% of type 1 diabetics are diagnosed before age 3. I am in that 2%. It is an autoimmune disease and a endocrine disorder. The damage it has done, or diabetic complications is kidney disease, eye problems, circulation problems, and in the future heart problems. Now the insulin pump is not a cure because I will still have a low immune system and kidney disease. But my body will not have to work as hard because the pump regulates my glucose levels and corrects and adjusts automatically. That means getting sick less and reduces the complication progression almost 100%. This is the closest to a cure we can get right now. I have to raise $4000 to cover the deductible. I know that's a lot. But because of the kidney complications I'm under advice of my nephrologist not to work. With the pump I can get stable and work part time again.
