Insulin treatments for Reese’s

UPDATE: Goal has been met! Thanks to everyone that helped! Hey! My name is Rosie, I’m in school for veterinary nursing and a momma to one handsome little man. This fundraiser was created in hopes of being able to maintain insulin treatments for my catReeses. She is 13 years old and was diagnosed with Diabetes Mellitus yesterday afternoon (10.5.20), it was devastating. I adopted her right out of high school from the shelter when she was four months old and she’s been my anchor since. The medical costs to reach a diagnosis and to start treatment, took nearly all of my savings and I didn’t quite expect that. She’s worth it though and I want to be able to say that I did everything I could to help her instead of just giving up and giving in.

After looking over the cost of veterinary insulin, it be 182.00 every three months (update I previously calculated that wrong and lowered my goal due to this) if she needs to remain on insulin twice a day. My set goal is in high hopes that we can reach some stage of remission but that happens over time. Reeses is hands down my heart kitty. She is understanding, loving, playful, easy going, and registers every emotion someone is going through, especially mine. She’s spent days by my side when I needed it the most, cuddled with my son so he could nap and accepted his toddler tendencies with grace. She is the cat that makes people who hates cats enjoy them. I want with everything in me to have her forever but I know that there will come a time where her quality of life and what’s best for her will outweigh my love to keep her here. She has a fighting chance to live a relatively normal life if the insulin is successful and maintained. Here’s to Reese!
