Instructor Hernandez is more than a martial arts teacher to us-he's also a mentor and friend. For the past 10 years, he has poured his heart and soul into his martial arts school in Norwalk, CA.
Instructor Hernandez's purpose is to help his students learn and grow. He wants to help them gain self-confidence, live a healthy life and be able defend themselves and their families from trouble.
Instructor Hernandez knows that some of his student's families would not be able to continue their training if he raised prices, so he's kept his pricing steady even when costs have gone up.
Instructor Hernandez also doesn't believe in charging extra for private lessons; instead, he makes time to meet with students before or after class for one-on-one training if he sees they need it.
Instructor Hernandez makes enough just to get by and keep the school doors open. Recently, this has become harder, as he has had to also take care of his ailing mother.
Because of all this, Instructor Hernandez has had to sacrifice his own learning. He has been ready to test for his next level of rank, 3rd Dan, for years, but has not be able to afford the cost to test at this level. Additionally, he has not been able to attend the annual Hwa Rang Do World Conference to learn and grow from his fellow martial artists.
We think it's time for Instructor Hernandez to get learn and grow, so we want to fund his 3rd Dan test and his trip to the 2018 Hwa Rang Do World Conference. The cost to test and travel will be $5,000.
A donation of any amount would be helpful; however, for all donations above $50, you will get a signed photograph from his students as a thank you.
