Installation Lumina
Lumina is an art installation heading to the Black Rock Desert for Burning Man, 2019.
Lumina will serve as a waystation for participants, offering shelter from the sun by day, where participants can watch colorful lanterns sway in the wind and listen as music boxes fill the space with a nostalgic calm. By night, Lumina will appear as a warm beacon on the horizon, wrapping those who enter in a soft, golden light
The piece is a refuge that casts colorful patterns of light and shadow, inviting participants to rest, to gather, to connect. 
Sarah Holden is an artist and architectural designer currently based out of Los Angeles. After graduating from the Savannah College of Art and Design with a degree in Architecture, Sarah volunteered for the 2017 Temple Crew before ever having attended Burning Man, working on the Temple both in Oakland and during Build-Week. In 2018, Sarah joined Rebekah Waites' build crew as her second Build Lead for the Singularity Art Project.
Lumina will be Sarah's first installation as a lead artist though she expects many more to follow. Sarah's work aims for sustainability with a focus on sacred geometry, proportions, and light with spaces that bring participants a sense of happiness and calm.
Funds raised here will be used for the raw materials we need to build, as well as transportation to and from Black Rock City.
