As a single mother, my daughter and I experienced our share of trying times.  After recovering from pneumonia that ended my collegiate basketball career, I luckily, landed a job at Bally Total Fitness opening the gym every morning.  As all parents know, childcare is not cheap, so my daughter and I woke up every day and walked (sometimes piggy-backed) our way to open the gym at 5am.  I still to this day don't know how I got away with it.  Throughout my time at Bally’s I was introduced to many angels in disguise who would offer acts of kindness - some as little as provide us rides. Some were much greater like babysitting, or even provided dental care after complaining a tooth had been bothering me. Some were just plain immeasurable - a manager-turned- friend believed I had a future in personal training, so she offered to pay for my first certification, starting my career in fitness.  
 
Fast forward 7 years and I own my first car, a home, can provide my daughter with all the necessities, and even blessed enough for extra activities like playing basketball!

Though I am beyond grateful for the journey the corporate world of fitness has taken me on, it is now time for me to combine the lessons learned along the way and my passion for fitness in to my own personal training business. 

Personal training is deeper than getting skinny.  It’s about empowering my clients, facing their inner battles and going on a self-discovery journey with me by using fitness as a tool. The money raised will help me with a training facility, proper equipment, advertising, marketing, and any other start-up needs.
