This is a time in human history when it's become more important than ever to nurture the next generation of Earth Stewards and Sustainability Heroes. Our fast paced lifestyles combined with overexposure to traumatic media sources and over stimulation from digital technologies are leaving youth struggling to find balance and purpose in their lives. For many, the sense of overwhelming challenge, anxiety and helplessness are causing outbursts of anger sometimes self destruction, with the rates of youth suicide at their highest ever. The purpose of this project is to provide underserved youth with tools and information that they can use to better themselves, their communities, and the planet. All Aboard Earth is an environmental arts collective that delivers sustainability studies through the mediums of music, visual and theatrical arts, integrating holistic mental health and wellness.
This program serves public schools and non profit organizations, filling the gaps of arts and ecology education in the communities we serve.
Our 2021-2022 program is launching this year throughout Northern New Mexico delivering in-school presentations, mentorship opportunities, and community activism campaigns. Our collaborative network of partner organizations as well as inspired district educators and local government officials provide guidance and feedback regarding the people who are in most need of service and how we can benefit them in the most respectful and effective way. This network includes: Santa Fe YouthWorks, Yucca NM, Earth Care, Railyard Park Conservancy, SF Partners in Education, The Sustainability Department of SF School District, Milagro Middle School, Mandela Magnet School, SF Community College, The City of Santa Fe Water Conservation Office, Arts and Culture Department.
The priority of this program is to bolster the mission of our partners, while providing an alternative approach to youth development and environmental justice based in creative arts pedagogies.
We are seeking support to fund this initiative so that we may purchase materials and compensate our staff of educators. We will need supplies for public art installations, community garden development, program materials such as: banners, costumes and props, audio visual equipment, and fresh organic produce to nourish our growing Earth Heroes.
