<div>On November 27, 2023, Jabar Walker was exonerated after nearly 26 years of wrongful conviction for a double-homicide that occurred in Harlem, New York.

<div>A recent re-investigation revealed that officers from the New York Police Department’s 30th Precinct— known in the 1990’s as the “Dirty 30” due to the widespread corruption among its officers— manufactured evidence against Mr. Walker and withheld critical evidence of his innocence. Among said evidence was the fact that two eyewitnesses did not identify Mr. Walker as the assailant. In fact, the only eyewitness who did identify Mr. Walker previously misidentified another innocent man in a different neighborhood shooting.

<div>At the time of his 1998 trial, Mr. Walker had recently moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where he was working to financially provide for his two infant daughters: Sydney and Alexus. Mr. Walker had dreams of becoming a lawyer, giving his children a better future, and returning to Harlem to uplift his community.

<div>After a quarter of a century of fighting for his freedom, Mr. Walker is finally free. On Monday, Mr. Walker walked out a Manhattan courthouse to the sound of a roaring crowd, and reunited with his daughters, who are now both grown adults. Today, we hope to fundraise $1,000 for every year Mr. Walker was unjustly deprived of his freedom. If you are able to, please join us in welcoming Mr. Walker home.
