Teens Honoring Veterans

When a dance makes a 75-year-old war Veteran cry and then say, "These young girls...they get it...they somehow understood the bond between soldiers...thank you so much", you know it's more than just a dance. This moving tribute to the brave men and women who serve in our Armed Forces caught the attention of the Stephen A. Ambrose Historical Tours. The Tour has invited these young dancers to perform at the Leadership in American History Symposium , part of the 300th Anniversary New Orleans Tour in Feb/Mar 2018.
For those who may not know, Stephen A. Ambrose is the author of the highly-acclaimed Band of Brothers book. He co-produced the award-winning HBO Series by the same name with Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg.
It is an incredible honor for these young women, ages 14-18, to perform in front of thousands, including Veterans and families of fallen heroes in New Orleans. What you may find even more amazing is that the piece, "Stand Alone Together" was created and choreographed by 18-year-old Kassidy Commendatore, an avid WWII history buff and admirer of the Band of Brothers' courage and unbreakable bond. Kassidy will be joined by fellow dancers: Tatianna Lamperti, Parker Doolan, Sophia Pierce, Mira Begg, Riley Cornette, and Megan Dalicandro from InnerRhythms Dance Centre, a non-profit studio from Truckee, CA (pop 16.2k.)
Your donation will assist in sending these inspiring young dancers to New Orleans. It will also help fund other local community performances throughout the coming year. I hope whenever our young adults choose to be a positive force in the world, we embrace them with open arms.
