Inn Theatre - Brief Chronicles
Donation protected
There are so many people and organisations in the theatre industry, both professional, non-professional, community and amateur, that are suffering the effects of the current Covid epidemic.
We, as a company, have been performing Shakespeare in the open-air at Dartmouth Castle for eighteen years - but not in 2020.
So we made this film: a love letter to Shakespeare and the all the amazing people who have, in one way or another, supported us over those eighteen years.
The film itself will be available to view - FOR FREE - from 29th July.

Please watch and enjoy. We're not asking you to pay to watch this...we're not asking you pay anything really - but your donation would be hugely appreciated by everyone in the company.
We receive NO external funding from any of the arts boards or charities - everything we do is entirely self-funded and paid for from ticket sales, advertising and friends donations. That's all our productions, work-shops and tours - and we DO NOT charge members subscription fees: we believe that everyone involved in the company pays by way of their talent, time and commitment.
This year we will have no income from ticket and programme sales or revenue from advertising BUT we will still have all our regular out-goings: insurances, storage, web-site etc etc. and ANY monies we can raise via this campaign would go some way towards helping us keep our heads above water.
It will enable us to go ahead with planning for the 2021 Dartmouth Shakespeare Week production of 'Much Ado About Nothing' (that was due to be opening at the Castle on 27th July this year!) and to carry with on with our plans to upgrade our storage facility and a little of our equipment.
NONE of the actors, backstage workers, costumiers and general factotums get paid anything for their time - it's ALL done for the love of the theatre (and, we hope, the company!) and the enjoyment and friendship they get is an ample reward. Ask them!
Anything you can spare is a way to help us keep doing what we love to do: performing, entertaining, bringing Will and his wonderful words to a wider audience, getting kids in our local community involved with theatre, helping their confidence, helping them make new friends.
And those last three points apply to the adults as well.
Over the year's we've toured Shakespeare as well and performed in some amazing places...including barns, theme parks and ruined Abbeys.
And we also produce modern drama too. One of our productions of a modern piece ('Dominion') won the Audience Choice Award at the Swindon Fringe Festival in 2016.
Your help and support would mean a huge amount to Inn Theatre and all who have come to love and take part in the productions that happen on one of the most amazing out-door stages in the South West of England.
Many, many thanks for taking the time to read this and, in anticipation of a donation, thank you again.
Please enjoy the film and we hope to see you at Dartmouth Castle at some point in the not-too-distant future.
