On March 5, 2018, two men entered First Tennessee Bank in Memphis, Tennessee and chaos followed. G4S Custom Protection Officer Antonio Dennie, 29, was shot multiple times while on duty protecting the bank. CPO Dennie was transported to a local trauma hospital for emergency surgery. Twenty-four hours later, Antonio was alert and responsive and relayed the following: his military service prepared and enabled him to face this with courage. He has since been able to stand briefly, but remains in ICU.

Antonio joined G4S Secure Solutions (USA) in August 2017. Before joining G4S he served in Afghanistan as a member of the Army National Guard. During his service, Antonio was awarded the Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, the Army Commendation Medal, as well as several other Service Medals and Ribbons. Antonio is the father of two young daughters and is engaged to his fiancé Katikia.

According to Memphis General Manager Iain Penrose, Antonio has consistently demonstrated an excellent work ethic and is an invaluable member of the Memphis team. Iain reports: “Antonio’s reliability and professionalism have always shown through his success working at multiple client locations. His fortitude and toughness has been on display as he recovers from this horrible incident.”

The welfare of our employees is of paramount importance to G4S, and we aim to ensure that employees like Antonio are supported during difficult times. G4S’ Employee Relations and Human Resources teams have been providing support to Antonio and is family at this time. Antonio is also a candidate for the G4S Employee Trust Fund.

This fundraiser is being set up so that Antonio’s G4S colleagues and friends can also support him during his road to recovery. We want to ensure that he is able to focus on getting better without having to worry about financially supporting his fiancé and two small daughters. Any amount is welcome and will be greatly appreciated.

If you would like to send get well cards to Antonio, please send to his attention at our local G4S office address: CPO Antonio Dennie | C/O G4S Secure Solutions (USA) | 1350 Concourse Ave, Suite 458 | Memphis, TN 38104

(NOTE: We want to bring the shooters to justice. The Memphis Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are investigating the shooting. Anyone with information about this incident should contact Memphis Crimestoppers at http://www.crimestopmem.org/)
