A fortnight ago, an electrical fire engulfed my entire home in just 8 minutes. I was trapped with my Fox Terrier, Lola, and my Jack Russell, Ted, but thankfully I was able to kick several fence palings out and escape.
Left with only the clothes on my back, I have lost everything - including my photo ID, which makes even renting a hotel room for the night near impossible.
I was insured, but it won't cover everything that I've lost, not by a long shot.
For now, I'm homeless and relying on the kindness and generosity of strangers.
