<div>Vi, Lisbeth, Frida og Marie er i en 14-dages periode frivillige i et projekt i Uganda. Det ligger uden for storbyen Jinja ved bredden af Nilen og Victoriasøen. Her bor 15 forældreløse børn hos Igulu og hans hjælpere, der drager omsorg og giver børnene håb for fremtiden. Stedet gør meget ud af at se det enkelte barn og dets udvikling, og selv efter en lang skoledag står der undervisning på programmet. Desuden hjælper organisationen enlige mødre fra landsbyen, som kommer og får et gratis måltid mad for til gengæld at hjælpe til med praktiske gøremål.

<div>Børnene er i alderen 2-15 år og går i betalingsskole, får tre måltider mad og hjælper til på stedet.

<div>De seneste donationer har blandt andet været høns og madrasser til børnenes senge. Det er et stort ønske hos alle i organisationen at erhverve nogle symaskiner, så de selv kan sy og reparere tøj til eget forbrug - eksempelvis skoleuniformer - og så kvinderne kan sy produkter til videresalg. Derudover kan børnene gennem undervisning i syning opnå nogle kreative og nyttige kompetencer, som for nogle kan blive en oplagt levevej senere hen.

<div>En symaskine koster i omegnen af 800 - 1000 danske kroner. Dertil kommer et behov for tråd, nål, og saks. ✂️

<div>Her kan vi virkelig se at en donation gør en kæmpe forskel. Små som store donationer vil blive værdsat af en flok fantastiske ildsjæle i projektet, der gør en stor forskel for børnene, der bor her.
