<div><span>Vi, Frida og Marie, er frivillige i en NGO (Igulu Foundation) i Uganda, lige uden for byen Jinja ved Nilens og Victoriasøens bred. Her bor 15 forældreløse børn sammen med Igulu og hans team, som hver dag drager omsorg og giver dem håb for fremtiden. Organisationen lægger stor vægt på hvert barns personlige og faglige udvikling.
Ud over at tage sig af børnene rækker organisationen også ud til lokalsamfundet. Enlige mødre fra landsbyen kommer og får et gratis måltid mad for til gengæld at hjælpe til med praktiske opgaver. </span>

<div><span>Børnene, som er mellem 2 og 15 år gamle, går på en privatskole, får tre måltider om dagen og hjælper til med de daglige gøremål på stedet. </span>

<div><span>Tidligere donationer har blandt andet gjort det muligt at købe madrasser til børnenes senge, en ko, høns og symaskiner.
Nu drømmer alle i organisationen om at kunne give pigerne deres eget separate værelse. Lige nu sover alle børnene i det samme rum. Men efterhånden som pigerne bliver ældre, har de naturligt brug for et sted, hvor de kan trække sig tilbage. Ved at bidrage til opførelsen af pigernes værelse er du med til at anerkende deres behov for privatliv og værdighed. Det handler ikke kun om fysisk plads – det handler om at give dem et fristed, hvor de kan være sig selv, finde ro og føle sig trygge. </span>

<div><span>We, Frida and Marie, are volunteers in an NGO (Igulu Foundation) in Uganda, just outside the city of Jinja on the banks of the Nile and Lake Victoria. Here, 15 orphaned children live with Igulu and his team, who provide them with daily care and hope for the future. The organization places great emphasis on each child's personal and academic development.
In addition to caring for the children, the organization also reaches out to the local community. Single mothers from the nearby village come to receive a free meal in exchange for helping out with practical tasks.</span><br />

<div><span>The children, aged 2 to 15, attend a private school, receive three meals a day, and help with daily chores at the home. </span>

<div><span>Previous donations have made it possible to buy mattresses for the children's beds, a cow, chickens, and sewing machines.

Now, everyone at the organization dreams of being able to give the girls their own separate room. At the moment, all the children sleep in the same space. But as the girls grow older, they naturally need a place to withdraw to. By contributing to the construction of the girls' room, you are helping to recognize their need for privacy and dignity. This is not just about physical space—it's about giving them a sanctuary where they can be themselves, find peace, and feel safe.
