To Our Indochine Family,
For 35 years, it has been Indochine’s goal to bring people together, celebrating the eccentric, individualistic mix that so defines downtown New York City. We welcome the distinctive atmosphere of inclusive fabulousness that unites patrons, friends, and staff alike. Part of that magic is our team, a unique group whose immense diversity of backgrounds, senses of style, and personalities are showcased night after night.
This is what we call the Indochine family.
Of course, we wouldn’t be Indochine without the many guests whom we have welcomed every day since we opened our doors in 1984. It is to you that we owe our longevity. Your familiar faces and unforgettable personalities make every night a party and bring us all closer together; in that respect, our workplace is our home. Those truly “Indochine” nights, where everyone drifts from table to table, remind us how special and close of a family we have become.
On March 15th, Indochine temporarily closed its doors as New York City braced for the coronavirus pandemic. Since then, we have been overwhelmed by the many well wishes from our friends and patrons. We are forever thankful to everyone who has contacted us and are humbled by the generous offers to help our staff directly during this time of need.
In response, we decided to provide this platform for our community to express their support. Any donations, small and large, will go 100% directly to the entire staff: not only to those you know in the front of the house, but also to the many kitchen staff who have cooked your meals each night, and who are all out of work and unable to serve you during this global public health crisis.
As a family, we are extremely thankful for your kind words, generous contributions, and unforgettable memories to help support our team until we are able welcome you once again.
We hope that you and your loved ones are safe during this moment of uncertainty.
With gratitude,
The Indochine Staff
