As members of the Sikh community in Indianapolis, we were saddened and shocked by the FedEx shooting that took place on Friday, April 16, 2021. Eight lives, including four beloved members of the Sikh community, were killed leaving behind families and loved ones after this senseless and horrific massacre.

In Sikhi, we say "Chardi Kala."

By aiming to keep our thoughts in Chardi Kala, it means we think of ourselves less and instead focus on how we can help others as a positive force in their lives and in the community.

We stand in solidarity with the Sikh community in Indianapolis as they begin the long process of healing.

Chardi Kala.
