Indiana - NICU Equipment Fund

On the 14th of July, 2017, our dear little angel Indiana Therese O'Brien was born.

At only 26 weeks, Indiana was already going to have a tough time, yet through the tireless efforts of the team at Bowral Hospital, she survived the early period.

A quick transfer through the Neonatal Emergency Transport Service (NETS), to the Nepean Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) followed. 

Over the next 12 days, Indiana was cared for, 24 hours a day, by the most compassionate and professional team of people we have had the pleasure of meeting. Doctors, Nurses, and Support staff all contributed to ensuring that our family was cared for in every way.

Sadly, after 12 days of fighting, our little Indiana passed away peacefully in the arms of her mother and father. She is gone from our lives, but we hope that this campaign may be able to ensure that her memory lives on, and in doing so, saves the life of another young child.

We are looking to raise money to support that wonderful NICU unit at Nepean Hospital. Most children in that unit depend on vast amounts of life saving equipment each and every day, and that equipment is expensive.

With this campaign, we do not have a set target, but we are hoping to raise as much money as possible, so we can hopefully try and help prevent the loss of such beautiful little lives.

As we get more information regarding the specific cost of items that are needed (Pulse Oximeters, Light Meters, Ventilators, Humidicribs), we will update this page with that information.

We thank any and all of you for any support you can offer, and promise that all money raised will be donated to the NICU at Nepean Hospital, either as a Cheque, or ideally as useful items.

Everyone who wishes to, can have their name added to a list of donors when we ultimately hand over what we have raised.


In 12 short days, Indiana changed our lives forever. Without the tireless efforts of the Nepean NICU, we would never have had the opportunity to meet her, hold her, and comfort her.
