India Immersion December 2024

Hi,

My name is Cooper, I'm in year 11 at Riverview and later this year I'll be going on a service immersion with 10 other boys to India. The immersion is renowned for it's significant impact on the local communities in which we will serve and the participants. This is not a holiday, we will constantly be helping, serving and accompany others there just as Saint Ignatius did. Witnessing the sheer excitement and gratitude that comes to these people from us helping and providing support is truly amazing and I am so grateful to be chosen for such an opportunity.

To go along with this, we each will raise at least $1,000 to be distributed to support the communities we will meet and help while we are there. In the past, such funds have gone towards sanitary pad machines and other necessary equipment which vastly improves the sanity conditions.

I experienced first hand last year how much this means for people when I went on a country placement to a First Nations community on Bathurst Island in which I witnessed the harsh conditions and exactly how the money we raised profoundly impacted their lives. In a similar fashion, this year I'm looking to raise funds again for the people we will be helping in India. Thus, any kind of donation is greatly appreciated and is going to an amazing cause.
