The St. Lucas Park Committee is leading a meaningful initiative to enhance Edmunds' Park's inclusivity and recreational opportunities. The committee is actively working to raise awareness and funds for several key improvements: adding a basketball court, paving the existing walking trail, and expanding ADA-accessible playground equipment. These upgrades are designed to ensure that children and adults of all ages and abilities can enjoy the park together.

 Central to the playground expansion are a ground-entry wheelchair-accessible merry-go-round and ground-level climbing toys. These inclusive pieces will allow children using wheelchairs or mobility aids to participate fully alongside their peers, promoting sensory engagement, social interaction, and physical activity without barriers. The ground-level design eliminates the need for stairs or elevated platforms, ensuring safe and independent access while maintaining excitement and challenge for all users. By prioritizing universal design, the committee aims to foster a stronger sense of belonging and equity in St. Lucas.
