Inaugural AFL USA Tour

My sister Maddison and I have been fortunate enough to have been selected in a squad of 28 female AFL players from all over Australia to represent Aussie Sparks for the Inaugural Women’s Australian Rules Football Tour.
The experience will be purposed as a high performance training camp which will include extensive training with world class trainers at San Joes State University and other high respected institutions. The idea is to help players like Maddison and I understand the physical and mental commitment necessary to be an elite footballer and create a strong team culture.
We will be heading to San Francisco, Los Angeles and USAFL Nationals in San Diego which will be led by AFL Level 3 High performance Coach Nicole Graves, alongside AFLW mentor coaches Jacinda Barclay from the Greater Western Sydney Football and Kara Donnellan from the Fremantle Dockers .
Out of the squad of 28, Maddison I are two of six Indigenous players who have been given this once in a lifetime opportunity. We are proud Aboriginal women and believe that using this opportunity as a platform to represent Aboriginal women from across Australia is an invaluable prospect. We hope to show our community that you can achieve anything you put your mind to and to always strive for personal growth and excellence.
We will be spending two weeks in America with some incredible people whilst gaining knowledge, experience and being pushed to our limits both physically and mentally. Maddison and I are very passionate about developing a wider perspective and hope that being exposed to such an experience will further prepare us for our AFL journeys while also passing on what we learn to our football community back home.
Obviously an incredible opportunity like this comes at a cost - we are seeking some sponsorship to help fund the trip. Any donation big or small will help our journey and it would be greatly appreciated.
