RHEA PASSED AWAY AT 8 am MONDAY, OCTOBER 9. SHE IS NOW OUT OF PAIN AND AT PEACE. OUR FAMILY CANNOT THANK YOU ENOUGH FOR YOUR LOVE, SUPPORT, AND CHARITY.
Rhea was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer in December of 2016. She has been a fighter and she dove into treatments head-first with extreme optimism. All who know her know how strong she is, but unfortunately the cancer proved to be stronger in this case.
On Friday, October 6, Rhea came home to hospice care and is surrounded by all who deeply love her.
Cost of treatment is staggering, with one chemo sesssion costing $16,000 alone. Rhea and her husband Chris are very proud people, so this is her sister, Marybeth, asking for help in defraying some of the costs that insurance will not cover.
I know that in these times of global strife, natural disasters, and so many other issues that tug at your charitable pursestrings, it is a lot to ask to contribute to the care of someone who may not exist in your daily universe. However, I thought that you might consider a small contribution in honor of someone who has survived this insipid disease or in memory of someone you have lost yourself.
If you choose not to donate toward Rhea's personal care and services, perhaps you would make a donation in her honor to the Carol Mathey's Center for Families and Children (a non-profit 501(c)3 organization located in Oakdale, MN) where Rhea has been a teacher for 13 years.
From our hearts, my family and I thank you for your love and generosity.
