In The Joy Of Others [CBR to SYD bike ride]

Tax deductible
“In the Joy of Others, Lies Our Own” is the ethos His Holiness Pramukh Swami Maharaj lived by.

HH Pramukh Swami Maharaj (1921 - 2016), was the fifth spiritual successor of Bhagwan Swaminarayan and leader of BAPS.

The universal values of Compassion, Tolerance, Love, Peace, Harmony and Selflessness Services manifested in Pramukh Swami Maharaj’s life.

A peaceful, humble, simple and spiritual personality, Pramukh Swami Maharaj dedicated his whole life to selflessly serve others. His life touched countless souls, and his selfless love and compassion have directed the energies of the youths to live a purposeful life and serve selflessly.

To commemorate, imbibe and celebrate these virtues, in the year of Pramukh Swami Maharaj’s birth centenary celebrations, I am cycling from Canberra to Sydney (300kms) on 6,7,8 Oct 2022 to raise funds for BAPS Charities and offer a tribute to the life and legacy of His Holiness Pramukh Swami Maharaj. It is a tribute that pays homage to his relentless travels across 56 countries, visited more than 18,000 towns, cities and villages, sanctified more than 250,000 homes, and read and replied to more than 800,000 letters to create joy in the life of others. He has changed my life for the better and inspired me to live in the joy and service of others.

Through this bike ride, I am also raising funds for BAPS Charities; In Australia, they deliver benevolent relief to people living in poverty, persons in distress, people at risk of homelessness, people with disabilities, financially disadvantaged people and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Their charitable work is driven by an ethos of selfless service, empowering individuals to engage in projects that better one’s community. This ethos is captured by our motto, ‘The Spirit of Service', and our symbol, a flame resting in a crucible. Representing the desire for selfless service glowing in the hearts of volunteers, we believe that the flame is an insightful representation of what true service is – the giving of ourselves to bring light and warmth, hope and joy to others around us. When an individual is motivated by the Spirit of Service, they sacrifice for the greater good of the community, bringing relief to those in need.
