In Support of Max Diaz's Family

Donation protected
After a sudden yet fierce fight against a rare form of cancer, we are grieving the loss of Max Diaz, a father, husband, brother, son and phenomenal friend who was loved by so many.

Doctors discovered a tumor on Max’s brain in mid-May. The tumor was identified as glioblastoma multiforme, an aggressive cancer that attacks the brain. Despite surgery and the amazing efforts of the neurological teams at Duke University Medical Center, Max entered into the arms of his Lord less than two weeks later on May 24, 2017. He was 40 years old.

Anyone who had the good fortune to meet Max could see he lived life passionately. An avid N.C. State University fan and alumnus, his zeal for Wolfpack athletics was unmatched. He loved rock music, and he and his friends were known to host jam sessions. As an Assistant District Attorney in Mecklenburg County, Max was dedicated to the pursuit of justice. During his 12 years as an ADA, he worked to protect the community by prosecuting an array of crimes, including misdemeanors, property crimes, violent crimes and homicides. Last fall, Max became the supervisor of the DA’s Domestic Violence Team.

But above all else, his greatest passion was his family, particularly his devoted wife, Jennifer, and their 2-year-old son, Adam. Max took delight in sharing photos of Adam with coworkers, and he relished his role as a father.

As medical bills and living expenses are likely to be overwhelming for some time to come, this fund was created by friends to assist Max’s family with medical expenses and to create a fund for Adam.

Please continue to keep Max's loved ones in your thoughts and prayers.
