In Loving Memory of Nikunj Chavda and in Support of his Lovely Wife Zalita and Sweet Son Chase...

This page has been created in honor of Nikunj Chavda, an amazing son, father, husband, brother and friend, who we unfortunately lost on August 25th after a brave battle with Osteosarcoma.

Niek was an integral part of our Wipro/Novartis family for so many years, and though he had transitioned for greater opportunities at Deloitte, he still remained a part of us. The relationships we built with him over the years are irreplaceable. All we have as a family are happy memories of him and warm wishes for his closest ones...

As we choose to go through this initiative in his memory and in support of his loved ones, we hope that we can be of some assistance and solace as this has not been an easy journey. Over the course of approximately two years, Nikunj had several hospitalizations and surgeries which led to a considerable amount of medical expenses. Our aim is to try and alleviate the burden of medical expenses for his family.

Your help is very much appreciated... And we will all miss our Nikunj very much.

Nikunj embodied the definition of life. All of us that knew him will forever remember him as an ambitious, vivacious, kind, fun loving, inclusive man that always reminded us what life is all about. He lived life to the fullest. He mentored so many, he was an example to many, he was a great family man. Even as we mourn his loss, we celebrate the great life he lived and the lessons we learned from him.

Below is a brief summary of his medical journey:

"A suspected gym injury in the right ankle led to a diagnosis of bone cancer for Nikunj Chavda, an otherwise healthy young man and business consultant. In his 30s, this handsome, educated, successful, socially active and quite the charmer was at the peak of everything. So full of life and adventures, he started his journey to battle Osteosarcoma. Surgeons at Memorial Sloan Kettering removed his cancer from his right leg, and replaced it with a highly functional prosthetic that allowed him to run, shovel the snow, rake the leaves, and return back to normal life.

Less than 2 years later, the cancer came back consuming more than a quarter of his left and right lungs. This time, married with a child on the way, he informed his doctors that he would go through the toughest treatment plan for the best chance to survive the disease. 2 thoracic surgeries later and after completing a few rounds of chemotherapy which included some clinical trials and immunotherapies, going through the best treatment plans MSKCC has to offer, the cancer was in control and Niek was recovering and enjoying his time with birth of his son, Chase Chavda. Unfortunately, 7 months later the cancer came back and spread to his neck. He underwent another difficult and complicated surgery that left his arm almost paralyzed with excruciating nerve pain that radiates down to his fingers. Niek had been battling tumors that were present in his neck, spine and lungs. It has been a tumultuous uphill battle and through it all he did it with a positive outlook and a radiant smile. Such was our beloved son, husband, relative, father, and friend."

Now we lay him to rest... It was a battle bravely fought.
