In Search of Hans Michael Wallick

The first Wallick in America was Hans Michael Walck/Wallick who came to America through Philadelphia in 1732. He was married to Esther Schultz and they started a Wallick family blood line that today numbers in the thousands. We amateur genealogists have been searching unsuccessfully for the Germanic village from whence he emigrated since the early 1970's. So finally we decided it's time to bring in the professionals and try to answer this question once-and-for-all. I would like to be able to say that "My Wallick family came to America in 1732 from the little village of xyz". It would be so great to be able to visit the exact village where our Wallick family emigrated from.
So to help us find his village of origin, I have hired a professional genealogy company from Salt Lake City named Ancestry/ProGenealogists. They specialize in the 18th century immigration of Germans into America and do very thorough and professional research. They will build on all of the research that has been done so far by us and then use all of the resources available to professional genealogists both in the US and in Germany. Our hope is to have some results by the West Coast Wallick Family Reunion being held the weekend of July 27-29 in Des Moines, Washington. We will give an update on their findings then and make their final conclusions known to every contributor soon after their final report issues. My wife and I have decided we will pay for the professional search ourselves and this GoFundMe effort will simply help defray the costs of the search. The financial target set for this GoFundMe project is simply what we had to put down as a retainer to engage ProGenealogists to do the research.
Of course there is no guarantee that the results of their efforts will tell us definitively which village he came from. We hope the ProGenealogist varsity team can carry the ball over the goal line. But we all know sometimes a game can end in a tie. Truth is, we may never know for sure where he came from. But at least we will have given it our best shot...
