In Loving Memory of Deborah Keating

Within the span of a year, we have been forced to say good bye to a beautiful, thoughtful, independent, irreplaceable soul that has blessed our lives with a relentless guiding presence. My children and I will be forever grateful for everything she has done for us. My Mom was hit by a car on her way to work last August.  As many know, I had begged her to just stay home with Quorra & Xavien. But she refused to retire. She was ambitious and determined, enthusiastic and glad to be working, again. Managing her finances to be debt free was her mission. And she was doing it.  Retirement was her only choice after completing rehab. She still continued to work down her debt to a bare minimum.  She placed an insurance policy to cover her funeral expenses, but it was with a two year contingency. My mother was taking a gamble, but she refused to ask for any help, even advice.  There were residual complications from her accident. She had been bleeding since that very day. We begged for an MRI from the beginning. 5 months after, doctors finally determined she was at Stage 2 Endometrial Carcinoma. We were in total shock, still are. The only treatment doctors proposed would give her 2-5 years to live and it was very radical... So radical that it would have debilitated her to a greater degree, more rapidly. She asked for the prognosis without surgery and chemo. They gave her two years. Mom immediately changed her diet. She prayed, she fasted. She was faithful, positive. We were thinking it was STILL beatable. And she looked for alternatives. She stayed busy with the kids and pushed on. We were optimistic. The three of us have faithfully held hope that Mom would have beaten cancer and spent at least another twenty years,  building upon the love she gave to us. It is with a heavy heart that I can even manage to ask for contribution towards  Mom's funeral and burial expenses. The contingency with her insurance is that it can be disputed, taking 4-8 weeks. Even then, they can simply refuse to pay.  Mom had simple requests for carnations, her Traditional Catholic funeral and burial, and for Traditional Masses said in her Mother and Father's name.  We have chosen Dalcamo funeral home & would like to bury her near Our Lady Immaculate SSPX Catholic Church in Oak Park at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Her arrangements are scheduled for this Saturday, September 8th. Mom's burial date is officially set for Thursday, September 13th. Please, remember my Mom in your prayers. Any amount offered in her name will be greatly appreciated.
