5k run In Memory of Aaron Bell

Donation protected
On Sunday 8th September an amazing team will be taking on the challnge of the 5k run been held in Masham as part of the long course weekend to raise money for our chosen charities and to remember Aaron on his 21st Birthday.
Tragically back in July 2022 Our son Aaron was one of three teenage boys who tragically lost their lives as a consequence of the irresponsible and reckless actions of the driver of the vehicle in which they were passengers.
Aaron was a talented sportsman and was from a farming family. He was tenacious and his love and passion for rugby, cricket, showing sheep and life was unwavering.
Our chosen charities are the Yorkshire air ambulance and Brake. The air ambulance flew out that night but tragically wasn’t needed. Living in a rural community the air ambulance is important to all of us and we never know when we may need it.
Brake is the charity that supports road traffic victims and has supported Aarons family after their tragic loss. The importance of a charity like Brake is immense, families bereaved by homicide are entitled to receive enhanced victim support services financed by central Government yet families in a situation like Aarons receive no such Government support and have to rely on the support of charities. Brake is also at the forefront in campaigning to make our roads a safer place and to make changes to protect our young drivers. More and more lives are lost every year, on average, 5 families will be bereaved through road crashes every single day in this country. That’s approximately 1,700 lives lost, or to put the number in context, enough to fill almost 11 Boeing 737 passenger jets, every year. Year in, year out If all those planes fell out of the sky something would be changed !! so we should not have to accept it on our roards. Our aim is to help Brake so no other families have to go through what we have had to and will have to carry with us for the rest of our lives.
To make this a success, to keep Aarons memory alive we are asking for your support in raising as much money as we can for our chosen charities

The amazing team are :
Nicola, Andrew and Luke Bell-Percy
Lottie Jones, Pete Wray, Josh Fisher, Alec Renouf, Sam Warburton, Oli Scanlan, Liam Dunne, Tracey Dunne, Richard Lancaster, Max welton, Jess Welton, Jake Shuttleworth.
