In Memory of SSDJ Dave
In memory of our dad, David Wright we are asking for donations to a wonderful local charity, WASH Sailability, based at Lackford Lake.
In the years since his stroke, Dad spent a great deal of time here following their sailing programme, and helping others to take part. It was the highlight of his week. Based at the beautiful Lackford Lake, the charity can cater to all disabilities, and Dad was very passionate about making surethat disabled people felt seen and heard in his local community.
We are asking people to donate to WASH Sailability in his memory so that the charity can continue providing this wonderful and fulfilling past time to people who need it.
What is Sailability?
All over the world, members of the sailing community have provided facilities for disabled people to be able to enjoy this activity. They might simply wish to be sailed, or sail the boat themselves.
The Royal Yachting Association Sailability governs Sailability, Its rules and operating guidelines, accreditation and the setting of standards. WASH Sailability conforms to all of these and is accredited by RYA Sailability
The kind of disability you have will make little or no difference to whether you can access this service, be it physical, mental, or sensory you are all welcome!
