In Memory of Shirley Kapinos

Hi Everyone,
For those of you who may not know me, My name is Brittany.  Jess is one of my best friends & has been since we were kids.
I wanted to share a message Jessica & I wrote together with all of you.
She is so overwhelmed at the moment, and after checking with her & her family, I offered to take care of this for them.

“My heart is torn while I write this.
On Sunday, November 19th, my mom, Shirley Kapinos, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. While we wait for the results to help us understand why she left us so soon, I have to begin the process of planning her funeral.
Her passing has devastated our entire family.
My mom was a beautiful woman. She loved with all her heart. To the special ones who were fortunate enough to know her, know you all inspired her to be the best she could be. And she was nothing short of amazing.
Her granddaughters Jordyn & Audrianna were the center of her world. She was the center of ours. We were each others.
I loved watching her love them. I know how much love she gave me my entire life & I knew from the very beginning my girls were lucky to have her as their Grandmother, as I have been to have her for a Mom. I think that’s what hurts the most. I know she enjoyed seeing them grow, milestones from when they were babies that turned in to birthday after birthday, year after year, she was there for it all & she truly enjoyed being a part of their lives - and my goodness she was a HUGE part in raising them.
It broke my heart to tell them she was now going to be watching them grow from Heaven.
Of course it’s hard for them to understand just like it is for the rest of us. I will never understand why it was my mom’s time to go.
Gordon was the love of her life & they truly enjoyed each other during the many years they have been together. I’ve never seen her laugh as much as when they were together. They enjoyed the little things in life, just being with each other was enough.
They both say they were fortunate to find their way to each other but I was fortunate as well. I loved seeing my Mom happy & that alone made me happy. She deserved it. More than anyone. They had a special kind of love - one that doesn’t come around often but when it does, you know it’s right.
Their dog Rocco loved my Mom. He brought such joy to her life & she loved having him by her side. He is still waiting for her to walk through the front door.
Our family is beside ourselves. We weren’t prepared for this which means we had no chance or any preparation to put money or even any strength aside to get through this & give her the beautiful farewell she deserves.
My family would appreciate any donations to help with her funeral expenses. We are hoping to raise enough money to give my Mom a beautiful & well deserved service. Being a single Mom, unfortunately, I do not have the means to cover it. Any support, in any sort of way, would mean the world to us.
As soon as we have any details on a time or location, I will post an update here.
My hope is anyone and everyone who had the opportunity to know & love my mom, come be with us while we say a final farewell & remember the wonderful woman she was. My mom loved her friends & family and would love nothing more than to have all of us together.
