In memory of Sgt Wesley McDonnell
Sgt Wesley McDonnell had served
nearly 20 years in the British Army with the Duke of Lancaster Battalion (1 Lancs).
Wes had served 2 tours of both Iraq and Afghanistan, and served in
Cyprus, Kenya, Canada, Germany & the Falkland Islands .
As with many serving & veteran
soldiers, Wes had struggled with
PTSD and on the 26th January
2020 , He had succumb to those
demons of PTSD , sadly taking
his own life at the young age of 35.
He was a much loved uncle, great
uncle , brother and dear friend to all
that knew him.
He was a well respected Plt Sgt and
had many friends around the globe.
Wes will be greatly missed by all
those that had the pleasure of
serving with him, and those that
knew him outside of the army
family .
Rather then sending flowers for the
funeral, the family have asked that
this page be set up in his memory ,
so if anyone would like to donate,
then the funds will be split between a PTSD charity and mental health
charity of which Wes supported.
The funds will not bring our Wes
back, but it will go to help other
Soldiers & Veteran's that are still
struggling with PTSD and mental
health issues .
Rest in peace now Wes, we will
always love you and never forget
you .
Stand easy warrior your Duty is
done xx
