In Loving Memory of Salvatore DiNapoli

Salvatore Carmen DiNapoli, 78, of New Jersey, passed away on December 26, 2020.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y., Sal was a retired Auto Body Shop Owner, a Professional Musician, a Boatsman and an Army Veteran awarded for his marksmanship.

He was the dear son of the late Carmine & Rosaria “Sally” DiNapoli and brother of the late Nicholas DiNapoli.

His greatest love of all was his wife, Josephine “GeeGee” DiNapoli, who predeceased him in 2009.

He was a loving stepfather to Charles Barbitta and his wife Giovanna “Janna”, Susan Barbitta Volkers and her husband Gally, and Camille Barbitta.

His world revolved around bringing happiness and lifelong memories to his grandchildren, the late Joseph DeQuattro, Jennifer DeQuattro-Haskin and her husband Hal, Viviana Barbitta, Donn Barbitta, Vaughn Barbitta and his wife Sherwin, Tabitha Barbitta, and Paige Barbitta. And his cherished great-grandchildren Tiana, Leidy, Lyric, Charlie, Lucy, Mila and Josephine.

He is also loved and survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Sal cherished his family and friends. He was a good and kind man who was eager to give advice and lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Always the entertainer, was quick with a joke and he loved making everyone smile with a story reminiscing about the good ol’ days. Among his favorite memories were family vacations to Orange Lakes in Florida, his music and entertainment career, his days at CBS auto body shop, good times on his boat “The Good Life”, Casino nights with GeeGee, and laughs with his dearest friends.

Sal was proud of his Italian Catholic heritage and loved baseball, football, playing the lotto, golfing, fishing, trivia, traveling and a nice meal surrounded by loved ones. He was known as Poppie to his grandchildren; creator of the Spinsalatta, the family’s Santa, El Cheapo and Mr. For Sale.

Life without Sal “Poppie”, will never be the same. He will be deeply missed.

A small Funeral will be held on Tuesday January, 5. However, a catholic mass and life celebration will be held in Sal’s honor once we are able to safely gather together.

The family thanks all of Sal’s loved ones for their love and support. In lieu of flowers, you may donate to Sal’s services here or directly to the family via paypal [email redacted]. Donations will also be made in honor of Poppie to his Grandchildren's charities of choice.
