In memory of Phillip Beauford, Sr.

As some of you already know, we have lost a precious friend and valued colleague. It is with deep regret that we share the heartbreaking news of the death of Phillip Beauford Sr. He died Wednesday morning after losing his battle with pneumonia. He was 29.
All of us here at Beacon College extend our most heartfelt condolences and sympathy to his young family. Hired in August 2016, Phillip served Beacon as a campus safety officer. Prior to that, he served as a juvenile detention office at the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice. In remembering Phillip, his supervisor Elyas Malik lauded, "In our line of work he was a cop’s cop.”
Phillip leaves behind his wife Tekayiha Innocent-Coleman and three children: Jayden 16 months, Phillip Beauford, Jr. 3 years 9 months, and Gabby, 6. The family recently moved to Leesburg from Groveland.
Our sadness for his loss is only surpassed by the grief his family must bear at the absence of not only a husband and father, but an outstanding individual. Phillip will be profoundly missed by everyone whose lives he touched.
