In Loving Memory of Philip Loates

Many people have expressed an interest in helping financially with the costs of the memorial that we are organising to celebrate Philips life.
I've decided to set up this page as a common platform where anyone who wants to can donate a little in Philips memory.
Philip never liked the idea of flowers at a funeral or wake (he often said " why waste money on something that is just going to die and remind us of the death. Spend the money on something that's going to help someone or change someone's life" - typically Philip).
As a family, we will cover the costs of the memorial but any money donated instead of flowers will be split between Philips daughter Alice and the school in Chiang Mai where Philip taught and dedicated so much of his love and his time.
Through the selling of Philips large household belongings in Thailand, we have enough money raised to see Alice through school from kindergarten until she is 6 years old. So any extra money can be added to a trust that we as a family are setting up for Alice to ensure she is supported throughout her education and into the future.
The school where Philip worked in Chiang-Mai have been amazingly supportive over the last week to mum and dad in Thailand where they have had to do some of the hardest things they'll hever have to do. They couldn't have got through it without the support of Philips friends and colleagues over there so we want to make a donation in Philips name as a token of our thanks.
Looking forward to seeing you all at Philips celebration of life.
